Who is Aunty 72? She is a young 74-year-old marathoner who set a record of completing 500kms in 100 days when she was only 72 years old in 2017. Born as Primala Hingorani a.k.a Aunty72 (now Aunty72+2), she is an inspiration for every person irrespective of age and gender.
Primala is a sports, health and fitness enthusiast who has been running 3kms every day without a break. She has a rigorous fitness regime comprising of walking, jogging, aerobics, dance and swimming. She begins her day with aerobics and follows it up with walking and dancing. A mother of three, Aunty 72 started running marathons in 2004 and since then has been a constant source of motivation to many. She has been featured across platforms including Google, YouTube, Mid-Day, Better India, DNA, Radio to name a few. She was invited by the Aditya Birla Group for their series titled Beyhad Zindagi and has also spoken at TEDx Bangalore. Her list of awards and felicitations is long but what inspires is her zest towards fitness. She has also been listed among top 5 Amazing Indians who Inspire.
Apart from exercising, Primala is also attached to NGOs and social initiatives, actively contributing to social causes. She teaches underprivileged children, is a part of Asha Kiran Charitable Trust, Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Beaches Cleanathon, River project and many others. She believes that leaving a career is not always a bad choice. With multiple options available today, determined people always get an opportunity.
