Not just a girl on the block – Tasleem

Tasleem is one of those self-made girls who, despite, multiple challenges have not stopped following her passion.

A waitress by profession, Tasleem’s real love is art. Not just the art of food, but the vivid world of colours. Being the eldest child of the family, it has been her duty to provide for all but she has not let her passion die in the whirlpool of responsibilities and duties.

Her raring to go attitude and gleam in the eyes is what keeps her motivated. Despite the long travel from home to work and longer working hours, she never misses greeting her guests without a smile. She believes in giving her best every time, every day. And this enthusiasm is also seen in her sketches and paintings. Tasleem brings the artist in her to work as well. Be it designing the offer boards at the restaurant or sketching for her guests, she does it all. She says that her work gives her enough opportunities to hone her skills and is immensely grateful for it. After providing for her family, she invests some money in herself. She buys pencils and art supplies.

Tasleem sketches every day – skips lunch or her free time at work to do what she loves the most. Her mother is her biggest supporter who keeps all her art safe in the small house of theirs. Tasleems dream is to host an art exhibition one day where she wants to display all her sketches – the sad faces being her favourite as she thinks they speak a thousand words. While painting is her passion, she gave equal value to education and did post-graduation in English Literature. Her command over language and the skills of her fingers give her an opportunity to explore the world in a unique way. She also writes songs and tries to sing them as well.

Her talent and sincerity towards her work and passion get her recognition. She has showcased all her art on her Facebook page called Colourful Blessings. She is truly blessed.
